SEPTEMBER. Thanksgiving.

Lord, I thank YOU for this beautiful month of September. For all the things that YOU have done in my life, grace upon grace, mercy after mercy. This month, I smoothly entered the 2nd phase of the cultural adaptation in a foreign land, they call it : cultural shock. Yes, after a first month of enjoying the new life, taking tons of photos, getting to know new people, learning a new language, they call it Honeymoon phase, I have to learn to face the reality. The more we stay with people, the more we get to know them with all their flaws and you begin to see how different you are, how different things are from your country, how difficult it is to learn a new language. At times, you want to give up or you don't want to care about the "boring" people anymore. But then, the Lord gently remind you that you are loved despite your flaws. Thus, trough circumstances and christian people, God is entertaining and uplifting my soul and my spiritual life. I am more vulnerable than I want to admit. But the Lord is sustaining me though this, giving me new adventures to live, new friends to meet - especially the guys from Madagascar yay, providing me a listening ear when I (sometimes) need to complain  ... :D Yes the Lord is good, HE always knows what to give in time of need. 

I guess during the cultural shock-phase, it is always better to embrace life in a new way everyday. It is good to go out, to live adventures, to see places, to meet new people, ... As for me, I have seen South Korea in a new way, I have seen a glimpse of its tender and generous heart, especially through Christian people :) And I am grateful Lord.
