APRIL. Do your country a favor. Act.
My country is getting poorer as everyday goes by... More than ever, I am personally convinced that we have something to bring out in this life. As long as we can do it, we can help at least one life to improve. Why not, on one generation?
As for me, I see that there is a huge need of change in mentality. We can't just watch Madagascar sinking while we are in our comfort zone, getting diplomas, getting paid every month... We just can not stay in our home sweet home especially when we call ourselves Christians! Jesus did not call us to enjoy life here on earth, while the rest of the world is starving to death, trying to survive everyday! How can we live such an egoistic and selfish life, studying for us, working for ourselves and families, accumulating diplomas, wealth, houses, material things without thinking and doing something more for others? How can we do that with the money entrusted by God to us?
I remember the lyrics of one song: "Break my heart for what breaks yours, everything I am for Your Kingdom's cause" and now, I can have a glimpse of what these two phrases really mean! But it appears that instead of having a broken heart for the vulnerable, most of us christians break the heart of God by doing the exact opposite of what Jesus would do if He were at our place/living our life.
That is one of the main reasons why, within a group of convinced history-makers, we have decided to give a hand of hope to the next generation by setting an example for the present generation. Biscuits are nothing but it can have its impact on two levels. First, the children who receive it, then, the youth who sees it.
I guess Madagascar never asked something from us, but as Malagasy people, we must have this sense of love for our country. Love is not a word, it's an action. "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." (1 John3:18). It is not by chance if God made us Malagasy. Let us give Madagascar a chance to have our contribution.
As far as I'm concerned, indifference is one of the thing that really destroy this country. Mixed with selfishness, it is the worst thing ever. Always asking for what the country can do to you/for you/ bringing you more money or like that... And never asking yourself what can you do for your country and then, standing up and doing it.
I guess, this change of mentality needs strong leaders because this community is so... passive. Just throwing critics here and there but never doing something ...
Do your country a favor, act.
